Approach

Redefining problems outside of normal boundaries to reach solutions based on a new understanding of situations we regularly engage experts from academic disciplines and the industry to design more holistic solutions. We work on the principle of gathering detailed need assessment in its political economic context and believe in collaborating with champions in the public sector organizations for its effective implementation. Interestingly, although our work is largely technology based, our team is also multidisciplinary with a healthy mix of mathematics, design, education, software, economics, fieldwork and anthropology skills.

Statistan

Developing an online data portal with more than 100 datasets that allows for live visualizations and macro analysis of these dataset which include health, education, security and economics.

Moodistan

Establishing first of its type sentiment analysis platform for Pakistan in response to different events based on news articles and social media feed.

Digital Preservation of Pakistan’s Heritage

Developed a semi-automatic interactive tool for building 3D reconstruction that caters to the unique characteristics of Mughal architecture.

Construction Monitoring

Enabled detection of major quality deficits at the construction sites by visual inspection through pictures and videos or through computer vision.

Attendence Monitoring

Designing face recognition and improving detection algorithms by enhancing image quality and results of face detector on continuous basis to provide efficient information collection tool using smart phones.

Court Beat

Developed case flow management system for civil courts using an online easy-to-use interface and business process mapping

Prosecution Tracking

Enabled Prosecution department to manage their cases and evaluate the performance on routine basis, similar to case management system for civil courts.

Crime Mapping

Invented a concept of using android application to geo-tag crime scenes and provide spatial spread of crimes reported.

Access to Health Care

Formulated the concept of using GIS tool to analyse the distance of healthcare units with actual settlements using customized settlement detection algorithm, helping better evidence based policy decision.

Bahawalpur Service Delivery Unit

Established a dedicated unit to develop baselines for key indicators,develop targets and micro plans to achieve those targets and deploy technology to achieve and monitor the targets emphasising on decreasing Infant Mortality Rate in the district.

District Education HRMIS

Improved efficiency, reliability and transparency of the school education department by automating the HR processes enabling the authorities to make informed decisions based on reliable information.

Peace Tech Exchange

Promoted the use of technology in peace building in Pakistan through hand on experience workshops and initial grants to support innovative ideas.

Mapping the Grid

Mapped electricity consumption data using existing data available with power companies to provide power sector officials with a spatial understanding of their system.

Exploring Mobile Data

Classified users according to literacy, income, population and mobility using mobile data usage.

Automated TB Diagnosis

TPI developed novel computational predictive algorithms and machine learning based techniques to efficiently detect TB using biomarkers and Xrays.

Expressions of Masculinities on Pakistani Television

Studied expressions of masculinity prevalent on Pakistani television and analyzed how they reflect and define masculinity in the Pakistani context
